Our Experience
As the trade body that represents the UK’s used clothing/textile collection and processing sector, we are a robust position to provide impartial and insightful advice about factors that impact on this crucial part of the clothing/textile supply chain.
This includes strong connections with professional re-use and recycling chain stakeholders from across the globe who have first hand experience of the actual issues at hand, which is often very different to the narrative that one might pick up by simply consuming coverage of the global media or on the internet.
Some estimates suggest the global fashion industry is responsible for around 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions which is more than the aviation and maritime industry combined. It also takes about 10,000 litres of water to produce just 1 kg of cotton.
Promoting re-use and developing further recycling markets plays a vital role in reducing the impacts of the clothing and fashion industry by improving the sustainability of the supply chain and delivering a truly circular economy for the global clothing/textiles supply chain.
Big or small, established or new… We can help you!
Whether you are from an existing business in the clothing supply chain that is wanting to get ahead of the curve and start the move from the unsustainable linear economy that dominates fashion and textiles to the circular economy which the whole sector needs to move to, or whether you are looking to set up a brand new business, we can help you.
